Our Coverage
Area
WISP 1570AM operates with 5000 Watts during the day
and 900 Watts after dusk. Our coverage area includes most of the
Philadelphia Archdiocese, as well as Trenton and Camden Dioceses.
For suggestions on improving reception please see the information
provided below the coverage map. Please Note: The coverage
map may take time to load due to its file size.
Based on the recommendations of
our Chief Engineer, and through personal
usage, we have found that the GE* Superadio III has outstanding
reception.
This AM/FM radio runs between $50 and $60 dollars, however it is not
available at all electronics stores, so you should phone ahead before
you go
to a store. We have also found this item online at
Amazon.com.
We were able to pick up W I S P in the New Brunswick, New Jersey area using this
radio.
Here are some suggestions for better reception:
1 - Use batteries instead of plugging the radio into the wall.
This helps eliminate static that can be caused by electricity in the
surrounding area.
2 - Try positioning your radio in different parts of the house or room,
rotating the radio for best reception. Unlike FM radio, the AM
signal is directional and may require some unique maneuvering.
3. Turn off florescent lighting or any appliance that may be
causing static interference.
If you have any questions about reception, or are having trouble
locating a
store that sells the Super Radio III, please feel free to the call us any
time
during normal business hours Monday through Friday, or leave a message
and we
will gladly return your call. You can also
E-Mail
us.
Also, we have received numerous inquiries about night-time reception.
Please
be advised that we operate at 5000 watts in the daylight and 900 after
dusk
due to FCC regulations. This is why many of our listeners are not
able to
receive us at night. We apologize for this, however, we have no
control over it.
Thanks for listening!! God bless you.
